A weekend filled with cats, food & wallpaper struggles.

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I took Friday off of work, and other than an excruciating headache, it was a wonderful weekend.

We started with some cat cuteness, as Buddy & Charlotte investigated the pineapple.

I made really delicious dinners.

Roasted Brussels sprouts & carrots, garlic & herb tilapia, & greek orzo.
Roasted broccoli, grilled pork tenderloin & hasselback potatoes.

I baked. A lot. I blame hormones. And headaches. And the fact that chocolate does cure any & everything that ails you.

Whoopie Pies with strawberry cream cheese frosting
Rolled in sprinkles for added festive-ness =)
Homemade brownies with Grater's Mint Chocolate Chip

Saturday, we had a date night at Sushi Cafe.

Wasabi steamed pork dumplings. Amazing.
We devoured this platter of sushi!

And 9 months after we initially demo-ed the bathroom, we finally did something else to it. And keeping with tradition, nothing went smoothly. FYI: check batch numbers very carefully when buying multiple rolls of wallpaper.

Oh well... it'll be really pretty when it's finished.

Wallpaper going up... (and no, those are not stylized rain clouds =))
LOVE the pearliness of the lines in this.
I absolutely can not wait to see it finished.

It was an absolutely wonderful weekend! I hate that I feel like I'm wishing away my life, but I'm so glad we're already one day closer to Friday!

Octobragram.

October was a very, very good month. We went home to Charlotte at the beginning of the month. Graham stayed home, my mom & I took an awesome little getaway to the Bahamas. We did the Komen Race for the Cure. We took Hermione hiking. We ate so much good food. And now I am very, very happy to welcome November, the holidays, and all of the fun that comes along with this time of year =)

Happy November!

Fruity drinks =)
Lifeboats are scary. Even when it's just a safety drill.
Beautiful beaches of Atlantis.
Pretty sunset.
Charlotte, North Carolina... Home Sweet Home
Our beautiful city turned itself pink for the Komen Race.
Hiking with our sweet puppy.
Petit Jean State Park

So smitten.
It doesn't get any cuter. Period.

So sweet.
If only it were this easy to make a decision about the election.

My favorite Instagram recap yet =)

Another month has come, gone & been instagrammed. My pets have been cute, I've eaten delicious things, and my husband has returned home from three months in South America.

Life is always good, but right now it's absolutely wonderful!

Happy August!!!

It's August!!! I know all of the teachers out there are weeping, but I am ecstatic! Graham will be home this month (keep your fingers crossed he doesn't have to immediately pack back up and go to Afghanistan), my shows will be back on soon, and most importantly August is (to me) the gateway to fall. And cooler temperatures. It was 110 degrees today, and I am so freaking tired of this heat. It's draining & miserable and I am ready for cooler weather.

The start of a new month means an Instagram recap of the previous month =) Don't forget to follow me on there. I'm stayinggolden83 =)

Buddy & I took a 4th of July road trip to Charlotte.

Buddy & George did a lot of wrestling.
And he did a lot of squirrel watching.

I took a drive to my alma matter to get some new school shirts.

Back in Arkansas, the heat broke for a glorious week. We had some much
needed rain and had some really beautiful skies.

My husband surprised me with gorgeous flowers.
I bought (and read) quite a bit of chick lit.
Baked some delicious goodies to send to Graham.
Caved & bought the overpriced quatrefoil mirror from Hobby Lobby.

And no photo heavy post is complete without my adorable fur kids =)

And lastly, I found something to do with these Instagram pics other than StickyGram magnets: PostalPix! They print square pictures at very reasonable prices. I had several 5x5's printed, found these autograph frames in the clearance section at Kohls (they were for graduation), spray painted them "champagne" and had an inexpensive gallery of some of my favorite Instagram pics. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out!
