Happy Valentine's Day =)

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was wonderful. The weekend started off with a great Valentine's Day, and even extended an extra day since we were both off for President's Day.

Friday, I met Graham for lunch at Chipotle. Every day should start with a steak burrito bowl, just saying.

He came home from work with flowers and presents, always a good thing =) I told Graham not to order flowers for me this year. He brings home flowers frequently these days, and those bouquets make me just as happy as the ones he spends $60-$70 dollars for on V-day and our anniversary. So, instead I got a gorgeous bouquet from Trader Joe's, a Frasier t-shirt I've been coveting for months, and an Etsy print I pinned a while back.

I hate having dinner out on Valentine's Day. Restaurants are crowded and it just feels so much more intimate to have dinner at home. We had a simple, but delicious dinner of purple mashed potatoes, asparagus, and crab stuffed salmon. We started with shrimp cocktail and ended with a chocolate cake & champagne.

How cool is this? When you boil purple potatoes, the water turns blue!

Ready to eat... Charlotte obviously didn't care that the table was set for US that night, and it wasn't just another play area for her & Buddy.

I'm not going to lie, the chocolate cake is from Harris Teeter. I was disappointed in the banana split cupcakes I made for our dessert. I had Graham take those to work with him, an I went & bought my favorite chocolate cake in the world. I was excited that it was small enough I could finally use my little cake stand from Sur La Table =)

We spent the rest of the weekend running errands and doing things around the apartment. I have one more (pretty big) thing I'm going to try to finish tomorrow. I can't wait to share pics later this week!

So, Valentine's Day... Stay in or go out?

    1. Their cakes are so good! When I worked at Hallmark, we always got a cake for each persons birthday. It was always either a HT carrot cake or chocolate cake!

And thanks for the heads up. I'll hide it ;)
